python-pygetdata software package provides library to read/write dirfile data - python bindings, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-pygetdata
python-pygetdata is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-pygetdata package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-pygetdata *
You will get with python-pygetdata package name, version, architecture and description in a table
